A Place You Can Call Home
Our students have many housing options near campus that they call home. If you are looking for a room, apartment or house to live in while a student at WesternU’s Oregon campus you may search several listings on our Housing Website. The nearest complex to COMP-Northwest is Cascade Ridge, at which many of our students have chosen to live. For others the cost of living in a house in Lebanon is very reasonable and the right choice for those seeking more space or a backyard. Whatever your situation Lebanon is a great place to live with good prices on housing and a supportive community ready to welcome you. We also offer a secure database where you can search for other students looking for a roommate.
Countless Ways To Stay Active
Oregonians are fortunate to have access to some of the best nature in the world, and a moderate climate. Our students often find time to escape out into nature or explore the great towns and cities nearby. Whether you want to spend a day at the Oregon coast, go hiking in the mountains, have a BBQ in the backyard or float down the river with friends, Lebanon, Oregon is a great place to be! There are many ”Hot Spots” within driving distance of WesternU and we encourage you to take advantage of these attractions while you are here.
WesternU also hosts numerous events on and off campus throughout the year including the President’s Ice Cream Social, a Halloween costume contest and musical events in the recital hall, there is something of interest for each of our unique students.
Making the Most of Your Experience
Many students are involved in WesternU’s clubs, and over 25 students are officers! At WesternU, student organizations serve many interests. Our clubs range from cultural and religious, specialty-based and nationally affiliated professional organizations.
The Student Government Association (SGA) is the representative governing body of students at WesternU. Not only do these representatives serve as the voice for students, they also continue the tradition of compassion and service to the community. The SGA serves to empower the student body through efforts such as mobilizing students to affect change on campus and in our communities. The SGA works with university administration, faculty, and staff to help students develop into the best possible health care professionals.
Not Just Part of the University, But Something Bigger
You will become an active member of the local community. There are a number of ways to get involved in community service including participating in health screenings, conducting physicals at local schools, volunteering at an annual SGA-organized interprofessional community health fair, Mini-Medical School, Literacy Day and various international service opportunities. WesternU strengthens this relationship with the community by allowing you to earn credit for service learning – benefiting both students and the community.
