Financing My Education

We are here to help you achieve your educational goal of becoming a highly skilled health care provider. As you explore financial aid and scholarship options, keep in mind that our promise of a student-centered education begins with the Admissions and Financial Aid processes.

Please contact us with your questions at (800) 346-1610 or visit the Financial Aid Web site for further information. To learn more about the benefits of a student-centered WesternU education, read President Phillip Pumerantz’s piece on Price, Cost and Value.

If you are an international student, please visit the international financial aid page for more information.
1 Complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application to determine your federal aid eligibility and educate yourself on how your credit affects your educational loans. Financial aid is time-sensitive, so apply between January 1 and the March 2 deadline for your best chance at assistance.
(WesternU's school code is 024827. Remember you can provide tax estimates on the FAFSA).

2 You can significantly reduce your need for loans with a Health Professions Education, Army, Navy, Air Force, Indian Health Service, National Health Service Corp or private scholarship. Visit the scholarship page for additional suggestions. Feel free to contact WesternU’s military liaisons for more information regarding military scholarships.
3 Get a clear picture of your educational costs. WesternU’s Office of Financial Aid has an impressive track record of securing necessary loans and financial aid for our students, so rest assured that our staff will help you meet your student budget. Our students have a nearly 0% default rate. This is because we ensure students take only the loans they need and take the time to fully educate them on the repayment process.

4 Although you won’t choose a loan repayment plan until you graduate, you can do advance research by reading up on the repayment process and by calculating possible payment schedules. You may also explore loan repayment options with the National Health Service, Health Professions Ed., or search the AAMC’s loan repayment database for more options.
