Many of our programs have made exceptions to the application process and requirements due to circumstances from the COVID-19 pandemic response at WesternU. Any references to in-person campus visits, events, lab work, or classroom interactions must be read in light of social distancing recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). WesternU has implemented remote teaching and learning across all campuses and only essential personnel are on campus at this time. Please contact us if you have any questions or need further information.

2020 Application Deadlines
Primary Application (AACOMAS)

Opens: May 5

Closes: February 1

Secondary Application (WesternU)

Two weeks from receipt of email instructions on how to complete the on-line secondary application. (Secondary applications are accepted until the class is filled.)

All application materials must be received on or before the deadline. Application materials received after the deadline are considered late and may not be processed.

Primary Application

The first step is to submit your primary application to the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine Application Service. Visit the AACOMAS website today to confirm primary application procedures and deadlines. The sooner you apply the better, as we admit students on a rolling basis.

Secondary Application

Applicants who meet our requirements are sent an electronic link to the secondary application. Completion of the secondary application and receipt of all required documents, including MCAT scores, if available, are required prior to consideration of applications. Applications not completed within two weeks will result in delayed processing.

CASPer On-line Test

We are requiring that the CASPer on-line test be taken concomitantly with the submission of the secondary application.  Instructions regarding the test will be included within the link to the secondary application.  We will accept tests taken between May of the application year and February of the anticipated entering year. The test must be taken with each application or reapplication. We will not accept test scores taken in a prior application year. The test scores are a requirement for the completion of your application. Sign up for the CASPer on-line test.

  • Please use the same email address to apply to AACOMAS and to register for the CASPer test. This will facilitate matching your test results with your application.
  • You need only select College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific once for your test results. As with the MCAT, we will use the same scores for both campuses.
  • Applicants should consider registering for the test as soon as possible in anticipation of receiving the secondary application link.
Transfer Applications

Transfer applications will be considered on a case-by-case-basis. Factors considered include accreditation standards for class size and availability of clinical training sites. Transfer applicants cannot be on leave of absence at the time of application. Do not begin the application process until you have contacted the  transfer admissions counselor and have read the  transfer requirements for details regarding your eligibility to transfer.

When the Admissions Committee reviews your application, they consider all in-progress/planned coursework (including both prerequisite and non-prerequisite courses) as well as any degree in progress when making their decision. Any change in your plans must be submitted to the Committee for review and approval. If you are ultimately accepted to the program and you do not finish your planned degree or coursework as listed on your application, your admission could be affected.

Admissions Process

You may check your application status by visiting our application status page. All applications are initially processed by our Office of Enrollment Data Services; please allow 5 to 7 working days for documents to post to your application. A list of frequently asked questions is provided to assist you in completing your application. We will e-mail you when your application is complete.
