Our Programs Are Evolving

New RN to DNP Programs Are Launching in Fall 2024.  MSN/PMHNP Program Will No Longer Be Offered.

The College of Graduate Nursing, the first in the nation to offer distance-based nurse practitioner education, continues to innovate and lead nurse practitioner education.  Beginning in Fall 2024, the hybrid MSN/Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (MSN/PMHNP) certificate program will be phased out and the College will launch its new RN to DNP program with options available for either a Family Nurse Practitioner or Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.  The College will continue to offer two post-graduate certificate offerings (Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner).  Be sure to watch our web site for coming information about program requirements, the application, and the many opportunities to become a nurse practitioner. Regardless of your RN educational preparation, we have a program that will meet your needs.

The College of Graduate Nursing at WesternU pioneered the delivery of a web-based family nurse practitioner program – the very first of its kind at the time of its inception in 1997. Our innovation continued with the introduction of a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program, and that innovation continues in fall 2024 with the launch of our new RN to DNP programs with options available for either a Family Nurse Practitioner or Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
